How do you like your pancakes? Outdoors over fire you say?
As it’s Shrove Tuesday this week, here’s the Woodee Perfectly Pimped Pancake recipe from our Cookout Live on the 13th of February!
Ingredients
-
100g plain flour
-
2 large eggs
-
300ml milk
-
1 tbsp sunflower or Rapeseed oil, plus a little extra for frying
Pimp up your pancakes:
-
Lemon wedges
-
Caster sugar
-
Salted Caramel Sauce
-
Nutella
-
Bananas, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries
-
Mini marshmallows
-
Nuts
-
Sprinkles
-
Squirty Cream
Let’s Cook
Place the flour with a pinch of salt into a large bowl, make a well in the centre and add the 2 eggs, with a whisk, slowly add the milk and bring the flour into the centre combining all the ingredients together, making sure you whisk out all the lumps’ finally add the oil. Put to one side and allow to rest.
Place the cooking tray onto the fire pit and allow to heat up. Add a little oil and wipe away with some kitchen paper. When hot pour a ladle of the batter into the centre of the tray and with the back of a spoon or the ladle push the batter outwards to create a large circle. When the batter is cooked through turn over and cook on the other side. When cooked take the pancake off the cooking tray and place onto a plate and keep warm. Continue making pancakes with the rest of the batter.
To pimp your pancakes, make a cut into the radius of the circle from one edge. Spread your base topping such as Nutella all over the pancake and then in one quarter add some fresh fruit. Fold the first flap over this quarter to make a parcel and then add more fruit to the adjacent quarter. Fold the first full quarter over this and repeat with the final quarter. You should have a flat cone-shaped, perfectly pimped pancake.
What will you put in yours?
Enjoy!
